Fisher Funds was named INFINZ Fund Manager of the Year, Bonds at last week's INFINZ Awards.

Carmel Fisher, Managing Director of Fisher Funds, was delighted with the victory, the second of its kind for the fixed interest team in three years.

"These awards acknowledge the quality of our investing process, people and performance, and are testament to the hard work put in by the fixed interest team. The results of their efforts have been enjoyed by clients across our KiwiSaver and managed fund businesses".

Senior Portfolio Manager David McLeish accepted the award on behalf of the fixed interest team. "I'm extremely proud of what the team has achieved over the past five years and it is satisfying to be recognised by the INFINZ judging panel. We've got a fantastic team of professionals here at Fisher Funds and have fashioned a strong track record in what has been a challenging environment for fixed interest".

Fisher continues "In today's low interest rate environment, fixed interest investing seldom grabs the headlines but it plays an integral role in providing a layer of protection for our clients' portfolios. Bonds are your financial umbrella; you never know when you are going to need cover from economic storm clouds".
